ACP’s Continuous Professional Learning Resources

ACP MKSAP®

ACP MKSAP (Medical Knowledge Self-Assessment Program®) continues to build on nearly 60 years of excellence as the trusted go-to resource for continuous learning in internal medicine. This subscription-based, all-digital program, launched in 2025, features a psychometrically validated question bank and integrated syllabus developed by nearly 400 physician contributors, editors, and peer reviewers to challenge clinical reasoning and reinforce learning, with content regularly updated and new questions perpetually added. Learners can choose a 1- or 3-year subscription to fit their needs.

ACP MKSAP CORESM (Confirmation of Relevant Education)SM is another high-quality learning and knowledge assessment feature whereby learners who surpass a threshold of ACP MKSAP learning engagement unlock access to 12 CORE quizzes encompassing 300 additional assessment questions. Successful participants earn a digital badge upon passing each quiz, and those who earn 10 badges earn a printable certificate for their professional portfolio. Included at no additional cost to ACP MKSAP subscribers, ACP MKSAP CORE is ACP’s response to physician requests for meaningful ways to recognize their commitment to continuous learning and document their achievements in keeping pace with evolving medical knowledge.

Enhanced Hospitalist Features

ACP MKSAP’s enhanced hospitalist features, released in February 2026, offer hospital medicine physicians a more targeted and effective learning experience. Expanded clinical guidance covers high-priority inpatient areas—including procedural safety, complications, and perioperative management, and inpatient pain management strategies. The former Critical Care section has been expanded and renamed Critical Care and Hospital Medicine, providing faster access to hospitalist-focused content. Also, a new Inpatient Board Exam Topic Guide helps physicians prepare for the ABIM’s Internal Medicine-Inpatient assessment by identifying ABIM inpatient assessment topics and organizing them by importance and frequency, with direct links to relevant ACP MKSAP syllabus sections.

ACP’s AI Resource Hub added a new AI Alcohol Tool, which is a collaboration between ACP and the American Society of Addiction Medicine that offers a member-exclusive AI-powered tool designed to help clinicians practice alcohol use conversations with simulated patients in a safe, supportive environment. The alcohol use conversations tool reflects ACP’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance learning and improve patient care and is a benefit that can be accessed from ACP’s AI Hub.

Long COVID Resource Hub

ACP Continues to Advance Equitable Obesity Care

Obesity is one of the most pressing public health and health equity challenges facing the United States today, and ACP is committed to addressing both.

ACP’s efforts can be found in the Obesity Management Learning Hub, part of ACP’s online learning center, which features an Obesity Management conversation tool to help members practice applying counseling concepts to improve their communication skills when counseling on weight management. The tool offers the opportunity to practice real-time conversations with a simulated patient and gain feedback with evidence-based insights.

As part of our commitment, ACP announced it awarded $280,000 in grants to support regional programs advancing equitable obesity care. A total of 12 grantees were selected, with awards ranging from $12,000 to $25,000, to implement collaborative, community-based initiatives. This was made possible by our initiative Advancing Equitable Obesity Care through Regional Action Grants.
