Membership and Engagement

ACP Membership

Our vision is simple: to be the indispensable professional home for internal medicine physicians at every stage of their careers. Membership dues, which are tax deductible,  represent more than a third of ACP’s annual income, and we’re pleased that the revenue gets invested back to our members through the development of valuable education, critical advocacy, and opportunities for meaningful connections.

Members enjoy free access to more than 280 online learning courses and over 350 CME hours through our Online Learning Center, complimentary subscriptions to Annals of Internal Medicine and other member-exclusive publications, a free DynaMedex® account, and discounted access to ACP MKSAP®.

Beyond education, ACP membership unlocks a wide range of exclusive benefits designed to support the whole physician. These include the virtual Career and Professional Development Center for CV-building opportunities and a path toward Fellowship (FACP), ACP’s Physician Peer Coaching Program, well-being resources, and access to ACP’s national abstracts and poster competition. Members can compete in—or contribute questions to—the ACP Doctor’s Dilemma competitions.

Introducing I.M. Osler

This year, ACP was excited to launch an AI (artificial intelligence) chatbot named I.M. Osler, designed to help members quickly find information on ACP’s Membership page and in ACP’s Online Learning Center. The assistant serves as an easy-to-use, conversational tool that can guide users to key resources, answer general questions about ACP programs and services, and streamline navigation across the site. This new tool reflects ACP’s ongoing commitment to improving the member experience by using technology to make accessing information faster and easier.

ACP Chapters

Our 84 chapters continue to foster inclusive, diverse communities and offer meaningful leadership pathways for all members. Through chapter activities, members make a real impact on health care by creating educational opportunities, influencing state legislation, networking with peers, mentoring future internal medicine physicians, and giving back to your community.

ACP members continue to come together through chapter-led professional development and personal well-being activities. By participating in these events, members build skills, strengthen connections, and support one another throughout their careers. Last year, chapters hosted more than 65 scientific meetings, and over 300 additional local events focused on clinical care, well-being, and practice environment issues, engaging more than 20,000 attendees.

Get involved with your local chapter to connect, lead, and help shape the future of internal medicine in your community.
